Study the Bible with a friend
for 8 weeks
WHAT
Start a 1-to-1 Bible reading group to read and study the Bible with someone you are comfortable with and can be accountable to, and learn how to read, interpret and apply God’s word to your life together.
WHY
As believers, we are called to grow in maturity in God’s word (2 Pet. 3:18; Col. 2:6-7; Heb. 5:12-14), because all Scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Tim. 3:16, 17). Having 1-to-1 Bible reading/study with someone else is an intentional and non-threatening way to get into the word.
WHEN
You are encouraged to meet at least once a week over a period of 8 weeks. Find a common and consistent time with your partner and commit to the endeavour.
HOW
Approach someone you are comfortable with (and of the same gender) and invite him/her to start a Bible reading meeting with you, starting with a book like the gospel of Mark or John. If you don't have someone in mind, you can approach one of your CG members, your CG leaders, or someone from your mentoring group or service area. If you really cannot think of anyone, please contact any staff member for assistance.
