Lent  2024

Lent is the period of penitential preparation for Easter. It begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. This year, Lent is from 14 February to 30 March. We invite you to participate more fully in Lent through the following.

Anchor 1

ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
14 Feb 2024, 8pm at Peace Sanctuary

Join us for this bilingual service (English and Mandarin) as we start the season of Lent with an extended time of reflection, prayer and confession. Congregants will also be invited to receive the imposition of ashes on their foreheads (or hands) as a sign of mortality and penitence.

LENT DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

“Ever Changing World. Never Changing Word” is this year’s Lenten daily devotional guide published by The Bible Society of Singapore. It contains daily devotionals from 14 February-31 March 2024.

An e-version will be made available daily on from The Bible Church App from 14 February 2024 onwards.

COMMUNITY GUIDED JOURNAL

As one of our church focus areas this year is “community”, we are also encouraging worshippers to use Lent as an opportunity to deepen relationships within community. To this end, we are providing a community guided journal for Lent which contains a weekly devotional thought, space to journal our reflections, and prayer pointer.  We encourage you to find a prayer buddy or form a prayer group and pray together weekly during Lent.

An e-version will be available on the church app - Lent 2024.

RETREAT CENTRE @ JUBILEE

INTIMACY WITH GOD - Creating Space for God, Communing with Him

To facilitate an extended time of reflection this Lent season, the church is opening up the studio at 1A Jubilee Road to be booked for personal retreats.

While we may be familiar with retreats involving structured worship sessions, a speaker and discussions, a personal retreat is slightly different. It is a practice of setting aside time and space to focus on your relationship with God and how this relationship impacts your overall well-being. The extended time spent isn’t necessarily about intense Bible study, but more about being intentionally present with the Lord. The goal of a personal retreat is to become a lover of God, to be loved by him, and to be open to the Spirit’s leading.

If you are interested, please click 'Book Now' and indicate your preference of start and end date (14 Feb to 31 Mar 2024, and await our confirmation. There will be a recommended love gift to help cover the cleaning and use of the studio.
