Matthew 5.14-16
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorifyyour Father in heaven.
Personal Reflections Unlike the salt, which is insidious, the light is for all to see. Perhaps in a way, it is true that the “best” salt is unseen but felt, while the “best” light is seen but not felt. Some of us do make a difference in our lifestyle, seeking to influence the people around us for Christ. But unless this difference is detected by others, it is of no use.
How would you live such that you can not only be a positive influence on the people around you, but are also perceived as such? As the “light of the world”, how would you live that would “let your light shine among men”? Make a decision to bless someone today with your good deeds so that others will “praise your Father in heaven”.
