OUTREACH MONTH video
THANKSGIVING
The month-long Local Outreach Campaign began on 8 July, and concluded last weekend. We thank God for the following:
-
Many worshippers visited the Outreach Exhibition booths with keen interest to know more and participated in the various expressions of local outreach.
-
14 participated in the West Coast Prayer Walk, praying according to the Spirit’s leading as they walked the ground.
-
In Their Shoes (a poverty sensitisation workshop) - 28 participated in a simulation exercise that allowed them to catch a glimpse of the stress and pressure of a low-income single parent.
-
New Blocks Blessing @Clementi Peaks on 5 August - 83 worshippers (from at least 8 CARE Groups) helped in various ways such as packing the gift packs and praying. 71 volunteers turned up in force on 5 August to distribute the gift packs to 1,104 households.
-
The Alpha Course commenced on 11 July. Along with 70 helpers, we have hosted a total of 40 guests from both the English and Chinese Ministries to date.
-
Breakfast by Gladiolus Place (GP) - $3,537.50 were raised. We are grateful for the generosity and hospitality the church community has extended to our friends from GP. You have blessed and warmed their hearts, and ours too, through your support.
Let us continue to persevere in prayer as we live out the gospel to our pre-believing families and friends. May God awaken in us His heart for the lost, that we may go forth to be His witnesses to the ends of the earth.
OUTREACH MONTH - JULY 2023
One of our church’s emphases this year, as part of Vision 2028, is urgent outreach. In line with this focus, we will be launching a month-long outreach campaignin the month of July 2023. West Coast Prayer Walk
15 July 2023 (Saturday), 3-4.30pm
Calling all prayer warriors! Prayer walking involves taking our prayers to the places we desire to see God’s presence; it engages body and spirit in the ministry of prayer through sights, sounds, and smells. Experience the power of prayer in a new way as we pray for the blessing and renewal of the West Coast community in which God has placed our church.
Note: distance and pace can be adapted to different needs.
In Their Shoes
– A Poverty Sensitisation Workshop
23 July 2023 (Sunday), 12.15-1.45pm
Journey in the shoes of a single parent from the low-income community and get a glimpse of the multiple challenges and choices faced on a day-to-day basis. Through an interactive simulation, this workshop aims to help Christians gain insights into the vulnerabilities and realities of the poor in Singapore, so that we may learn to love and care for them as God has commanded us to.
Breakfast by Gladiolus Place
30 July 2023 (Sunday), 9.30-11am
In partnership with the Ladies Ministry, we have been organising monthly connections to reach out to the at-risk teenage girls at Gladiolus Place (GP). Presently, GP is undergoing a major renovation and requires further funding. To raise funds, some GP girls will be selling tasty treats in the fellowship hall on 30 July. Bring some $$ to purchase yummy breakfast bakes, and take the opportunity to drop by the breakfast booth for a rare chance to interact with the GP girls and staff.
