Week 10 (5 Mar) Day 3

Communications

Matthew 6.13

13 And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one.’

Personal Reflections While verse 12 deals with past sins, verse 13 deals with the need for protection from future ones. God does not tempt us (Jas 1.13), hence many understand this verse to mean “testing” or “trials”. But more important, this prayer expresses our utter need for God in dealing with our own carnality as well as the Devil’s snares.

What trials and testing and temptations are you facing recently? How are you depending on God to enable you to overcome them? Have you brought them to the foot of the Cross and before the throne of divine grace for deliverance?
