5 Days of Prayer: Day 5

PAUSE 

Deliverer and Defender, 

I acknowledge my weakness and my need for You. 

Be my refuge as I come to You in prayer. 

Pause and Pray 

REFLECT  

And lead us not into temptation,  

    but deliver us from the evil one. (Matthew 6:13)  

How can a young person stay on the path of purity? 

    By living according to your word. 

I seek you with all my heart; 

    do not let me stray from your commands. 

I have hidden your word in my heart 

    that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:9-11) 

• Where am I most vulnerable to temptation or discouragement? 

• How has God delivered you from the evil one previously? 

• How might you hide the word in your heart, that you might not sin against God? 

Pause and Pray 

ASK  

Lord, our good Shepherd and great Deliverer 

guard our hearts and minds today. 

Help us to recognise the schemes of the evil one and resist him. Strengthen those who are weary, tempted, or under spiritual attack. Keep Your church alert, humble, and rooted in Your truth. 

Grant that we might seek you with all our hearts and not stray from you.   

Pause and Pray 

YIELD  

Lord of all my life, including my insecurities and vulnerabilities,  

I offer You my weaknesses and fears, my sins and addictions. Teach me to rely not on my strength but on Your power to protect, deliver, and sustain me. 

Help me not to stray from You 

but always follow Your example and lead.

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. (Romans 16:20)
