Matthew 7.21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day,‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Personal Reflections Verses 21-23 ought to send chills down our spines. Are we truly his disciples? Do we constantly desire to do the will of the Father? Lest we mistake this for conditional salvation, we should note that one who is a true disciple cannot but do the will of the Father. The Spirit who dwells in her life will cause her to live out the kingdom life. Yet there are things that often stumble and hinder us, such as un-repented sins, past baggage and bondages or un-surrendered passion and desires.
Are you truly experiencing the King? Are you living out the kingdom? Is there anything that stumbles or hinders you from living the fully-orbed lifestyle – doing God’s will – of the new kingdom?
